The brain child of teacher John Henderson at Georges H. Primeau in 1992, this trip heads up to the Rocky Mountains for the 30th time in 2024.  Over the years, it has been become an institution for a generation of students in Morinville.

Named after the original support truck driver Roger Champagne, who was tragically killed in Las Vegas in 1994, the school's annual ride through the Rocky Mountains pays honour to the man who built the original trailer to haul the bikes and supplies to the starting point of the trip.  In 2024, students will ride for three days covering roughly 210 kilometres from Lake Louise to Jasper along highway 93.  In Roger's memory, his family has presented an award to one of the trip's participants every year since his death.

Students wishing to participate in the trip must have a properly functioning multi-geared bike, a CSA-approved helmet and a functioning bike bell.  As well, students must complete at least three of five scheduled Saturday training rides in order to qualify.
